Backpack PC: MSI VR ONE 065

Just as you’re about to dive into a fantasy world, you’re brought back down to Earth because your VR headset is still attached to your PC with a cable. Plan your break from reality with MSI’s latest backpack PC, which straps a high-powered VR-capable gaming PC on to your back, so you can move about freely.

And at just 3.6 kg, it weighs about the same as a big laptop – and it boasts Intel’s latest i7 processor, Nvidia’s scorching-hot GTX 1070 graphics card with 8 GB of video RAM on board, and two hot-swappable 90-watt-hour batteries. They're not yet available to buy, but MSI plans to sell additional batteries and a battery charging dock, which would allow you to swap in fresh batteries as you play. It’s hard not to imagine the VR ONE as a suit of Fallout power armour – fusion cores and all.

VR backpack’s armor design highlights power, braveness and mobility. Its muscled shape with aerodynamic outlines create the look of a super hero in the VR world.. Applications of VR One.

The ultra-lightweight design includes a cooling system with large down-firing exhausts that could easily pass for a jetpack. For gaming, as nice as it is to enjoy room-scale VR without a cord underfoot, it's hard to recommend the VR ONE for the average consumer interested in VR.

Because there are so many technical challenges that come along with it the VR ONE is going to make entering the VR world even more complicated than it already is, and it's a poor fit for VR-curious newbies. Overall, the MSI VR ONE is a compelling choice for VR enthusiasts looking to cut the cord on the HTC Vive.

Abigail: Next Character Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 5, producer Yoshinori Ono announced a new playable character for the game. The next character coming to Street Fighter 5 is Abigail, and he will be added as a DLC character.

This news was unveiled during the Street Fighter 5 finals of Evo 2017, the world’s premier fighting game tournament. Abigail originates from the classic 1989 beat ’em up Final Fight, in which he plays the role of the final boss of the second-to-last stage. He is a top lieutenant of the Mad Gear Gang and quite the brute, as you can see from his size, think of Hugo, except bigger and more comically proportioned.

Abigail will be part of the Season 2 Character Pass, alongside Akuma, Kolin, Ed, two more characters and his stage Metro City Bar Area will be available on July 25.

As one might imagine, Abigail uses his massive size to his advantage. He's not easily knocked down and he can toss his opponents around like ragdolls, while juggling them with piston punches.
Street Fighter 5 is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC. Watch the Abigail reveal trailer above.

FUJIFILM’s Instax SQUARE SQ10 And mini 9

FUJIFILM announced two brand new cameras in their instax lineup with the instax SQUARE SQ10, and the instax mini 9. Both cameras are unique in their own ways, and is vying for a spot in each instant camera lover’s pocket.

The birth of the the hybrid instant camera - the instax SQUARE SQ10 - was built around the theme of ‘‘The New Shape of Creativity”. Hybrid in this case means that it combines both utilities of instant printing and digital technologies together. Easy to hold and easier to navigate, turning on the SQ10 only requires you to rotate the lens ring. Built into the SQ10 are two easy access shutter buttons, located on the front side of the camera.

Left-handers will enjoy using it, as it allows them to take pictures with their dominant hand without fuss. As mentioned in the name of the SQ10, it can take square photos in a perfect 1:1 aspect ratio, which is gaining popularity in recent years.

The mini 9 comes with five brilliantly differing colours – cobalt blue, flamingo pink, ice blue, lime green and smoky white. The mini 9 features a selfie mirror beside the lens, so you can check your selfies before snapping away. Included in the bundle is also a close-up lens attachment, which allows you to take pictures from 35cm away.

It will also automatically determine the best brightness for your pictures, so all you need to do is manually turn the dial to the lit position and snap away. Both cameras are available now from participating stores nationwide.

Powerful Console: Xbox One X vs PS4 PRO

XBOX ONE X. That’s the official name Microsoft has given to Project Scorpio, the upcoming 4K-ready Xbox One successor that took center stage at Microsoft’s recent E3 2017 press conference.

It will, in Microsoft’s words, be “the most powerful console ever.” That was Microsoft’s main message for the show, repeatedly emphasizing the Xbox One X’s advantages over the competing PlayStation 4 Pro (without ever mentioning its rival console by name, of course). And it sure is a powerful console. During its E3 press conference, Microsoft touted a “worldwide” release on November 7 for the Xbox One X, but the company has so far listed prices in only five currencies: $499 USD, £449 GBP, €499 EUR, $599 CAD, and $649 AUD.

Microsoft also has yet to allow pre-orders—presumably because FCC approval of the console is still pending. That hasn’t stopped some US retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart from having live listings for the Xbox One X, of course, but you can’t currently reserve a system. According to an IGN with Microsoft’s Albert Penello, the company has planned a special pre-order program for later in the year.

In addition, the two are similar in how they'll treat existing and future games; both aim to be as inclusionary as possible. But the PS4 Pro costs $100 less than the Xbox One X, so what's causing the discrepancy, and is it worth paying for?

Star Wars Land: D23 Expo in Anaheim

One entrance is flanked by a TIE Fighter representing the evil First Order. The other entryway is dressed as a Resistance encampment with a lifesize X-wing. Beyond is lush greenery contrasting with desert-like domed structures.

This is the alien world of the "Star Wars" - inspired lands coming to Disney's North American theme parks in 2019. A 50-foot model unveiled at the all-things Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim Thursday night showed off a world that looks to be a diverse ecosystem of otherworldly cultures.

While two main attractions are planned, including one that will let guests pilot the famed Millennium Falcon, Disney Imagineers described the area as one that will essentially be large-scale immersive theater.

We didn’t want to remind you of a ‘Star Wars’ story somebody else had. We wanted to give a place to live your own ‘Star Wars’ story.

Wireless Oculus VR Headset For 2018

We know that truly wireless VR is the future for Oculus. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg laid out his vision for wireless virtual reality last year, and shortly afterwards we got a brief glimpse at the company's "Santa Cruz" prototype headset.

But it's been unclear just how long it would take Oculus to deliver a truly cord-free VR experience. Turns out, we might not have to wait too long: Oculus is apparently developing a $200 wireless VR headset for release next year, Bloomberg reports.

The device, codenamed "Pacific," won't just be an empty shell for your smartphone, like the Gear VR and DayDream View, it'll pack in all of the hardware it needs for VR experiences.

"We don't have a product to unveil at this time, however we can confirm that we're making several significant technology investments in the standalone VR category," an Oculus spokesperson said in a statement. "This is in addition to our commitment to high-end VR products like Oculus Rift and mobile phone products like Gear VR."
